Samantha Ginitthan was once engulfed with basketball early in life during her sports career, after finally giving it up during her college days at the University of the Southwest in Hobbs, NM. Ginithan realized she still had the competitive fire. She dabbled in training for a possible career in MMA. Ginithan realized her path would lead her to boxing, even after a late start.
Ginithan 34, captured two National Golden Gloves titles and was undefeated in the amateur ranks, she now looks to go 2-0 this Wednesday against 18 year old Jennah Creason 3-0 in the pros
“I wanted to compute still after my basketball career, I thought about MMA, but I was able to pick up boxing quick and it snowballed from there.” Stated Ginithan.
While looking to turn professional, Ginithan got the opportunity to fight in the Team Combat League, where fighters fight one to two rounds with a team taggin each other out going 10-12 rounds, she went 9-2, Ginithan learned about about boxing and marketing during her experience in the Combat League.
“Fighting in the Combat league, I learned a lot about the professional ranks and that marketing is just as important as training to fight.”
Invited to compete again in the Combat League again in 2025, she will decide on what team she will join, but for now her sights are on Creason.
Her opponent Creason hopes to show that the young lion will have more for her older opponent, Ginithan hopes that she is overlooked and will take advantage of that.
“I know she is the younger fighter, but I am mature and know that I have a lot fo show and will do that Wednesday.”
Standing 5’7 the taller Ginithan hopes to use her boxing skills and height to keep the shorter Creason at a distance with her jab and southpaw stance.
“I heard she is a banger and will look to come inside and want to battle, I too like to bang. I will fight smart, either way I am prepared to fight both ways.”
Ginithan vs Creason will be part of the Gabriel Flores Jr. vs Jose Arellano fight card and can be seen on Probox.
